Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Course
Advanced training for healthcare providers to manage complex cardiac emergencies
Register NowCourse Introduction
The Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) course is an advanced training program designed for healthcare providers. It focuses on managing cardiovascular emergencies and life-threatening cardiac events. Building upon the foundations of Basic Life Support (BLS), this course introduces advanced techniques and skills, including medication use, airway management, and teamwork within a coordinated medical team.
Course Objectives
1 Enhancing Assessment and Decision-Making Skills
Rapid recognition of critical conditions such as cardiac arrest, arrhythmias, and acute coronary syndromes. Making treatment decisions based on established guidelines and protocols.
2 Implementing Advanced Therapeutic Interventions
Performing advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Managing airway, mechanical ventilation, and circulatory care. Effectively and safely using cardiovascular medications.
3 Coordination and Teamwork
Improving performance as part of a structured medical team during emergencies. Enhancing communication for coordinated responses during resuscitation.
Course Content
Theoretical Components:
- Reviewing the Chain of Survival concept.
- Identifying treatable causes of cardiac arrest using the Hs and Ts model (e.g., hypoxia, electrolyte imbalances, shock).
- Understanding types of arrhythmias (e.g., ventricular fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, heart block).
Practical Components:
- Training on advanced CPR protocols (ACLS).
- Using automated external defibrillators (AEDs) and delivering electrical shocks.
- Administering emergency medications (e.g., adrenaline, amiodarone, atropine).
- Intervening in cases of stroke and acute coronary syndromes.
Emergency Simulation Scenarios:
- Engaging in realistic emergency scenarios.
- Working within medical teams to apply integrated resuscitation strategies.
Target Participants
- Emergency physicians, anesthesiologists, and cardiologists.
- Nurses working in emergency and intensive care units.
- Advanced medical technicians and paramedics.
